Hawaiʻiʻs First Virtual State Science and Engineering Fair

All over the country the annual spring science fair ritual is being disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Regional and State science fairs are held in March and April and many students will have the opportunity to qualify for the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) currently still scheduled for May 10th through 15th. Given the current quarantine restrictions in place nationwide, any science fair that takes place will have to be done virtually. Here in Hawaiʻi, the Hawaiʻi Academy of Science (HAS), a non-profit agency attached to the University of Hawaiʻi, runs the state science fair and this year the Hawaiʻi State Science and Engineering Fair (HSSEF) will take place virtually. Student Corner is excited to partner with HAS to optimize the student experience during the virtual science fair.
